Want to Submit?

The submission process for the Neopian Post is both complex and delightfully simple at the same time! All you must do is follow this one simple step.

Just chuck it in our general direction!

In practice that means, email, a DM, or other form of communication where you can deliver us the critical information we need to publish your story!

That critical information is the following.

  • Text as .html or .txt File
    • submit series as separate files.
  • Comics and FanArt as .gif, .png, or .jpg File (500 px max width, unlimited height, 1 MB size limit.)
  • A Thumbnail file, in .gif, png. or .jpg (150x150 pixels please) No need for a thumbnail for Fanart!
  • A Title
  • Author Name (include all authors's names, if it's a collab)
    • optionally, include a single URL to link back to your socials, or neopets account
  • A few sentences Caption that intice a potential reader to enjoy your creation (No need for Fanart!)
  • A textual description of visual mediums as Alt-text for accessability. (this is different than the caption)
  • A list of Tags. (Detailed examples in the Community Guidelines!)

A well crafted submission will contain all the relevant information above. To elaborate on all of the requirements: Your Caption should be about one or two sentences long, and should intice a potential reader. The thumbnail should be a relevant image to your story. Try Dr. Sloths Image Emporium if you can't find something! Your tags should be a comprehensive list so that in the future, other readers can find what you have made! We do not have an internal search function, so the tags will help external search tools find the stories. Your username should be whatever you think is appropriate, it can be a social media username, your neopets username, or just a penname. The alt text for comics is meant as a tool for people using screen readers, so as a kindness to them, describe whats going on in your comic. It is up to you the level of detail you want to go into.

When you submit, check out the Community Guidelines! More information about what you should and should not submit there, as well as advice on how to craft a more ideal submission!

Right now our editorial staff consists of Jeran, who can be contacted on Discord @Jeran . Alternitivly, you can E-Mail the editor with all the information at NeopianPost@post.com. Additional methods of submission and points of contact will open up as the project expands.

If you want fine control of formatting over your submission, submit as HTML! If you are not familar with HTML, you can use Rich Text Formatting and convert it using This website: https://moltenform.com/pages/rtf-to-html/rtf_html.html
